An Early Christmas Present for Fruity Fans
Everyone may be starting to wind down for Christmas, but here at Leeds University Union, the Union Upgrade project is starting to gain real pace.
Piers, our Activities Officer, has already helped us wave goodbye to the Riley Smith Hall, a space that a lot of our clubs and societies have held dear over the past 75 years. Now we look forward to a couple of months of preparation works before the main refurbishment begins.
Swiftly after this initial work is done in the Riley Smith Hall, the contractors will be moving on to Mine and Pulse to carry out similar checks. This means that we’ll have full use of Mine and Pulse right up until late February, which is a great update for any Fruity Fans out there! Previously the spaces were scheduled to shut in January for refurbishment, but luckily we have managed to shift the phasing so we can squeeze as much activity out the spaces as possible.
Clubs and societies who were given alternative venues for any of their activity in anticipation of the spaces closing in January will be asked to keep their new, rearranged venues. However, if anyone has any questions or concerns please get in contact with email@example.com or use the contact form on the website and we’ll be able to help.
We can’t wait to welcome in the New Year with a whole host of new updates for this enormous but exciting project.
